Found this in a field that has been farmed since at least 1860. I haven't weighed it, but it's fairly heavy. I assume some type of farm implement part. Kind of looks like it maybe held a bell at one time to me. The hole on top does not go all the way through. I forgot to show the tape measure for thickness. The iron is about 1 1/2" thick. Can't think of anything to add. Hope someone has seen something like this before.

It looks as though it would have slid onto something and the bolt would just be there to keep it from moving positions. Similar to the way a firearm accessory would attach to a piccatiny rail.
