At first glance, my thought was a tip for a dart.

Dart tip was my initial thought as well, however, that hook on the end appears to be intentional. Possibly a tip from a tranquilizer dart for a large game animal? No idea beyond that thought.

Ohh! How about this idea? The tip of the spear that picadors use during a bull fight to weaken the bull prior to the matadors entrance to take all the glory for the kill.

Looks like it was to fit into a handle. Maybe a tool for setting up the threads in a loom?

Too beefy for a crochet hook.

Looks like a fish shaker. My Grampa used one to take fish off the hooks. Catfish bite when you try to remove the hook.

tool missing its handle?

for making or mending large fishing nets?

or a part of a twine hay baler?

what ever it is, it looks like it was for penetrating, grabbing a line and pulling it back out.

How does attachment method appear to be? I'll guess part of an early industrial crochet part from textile machinery.

looks like someone stabbed/stuck it into something..... and tried to pull/bent it out. Maybe it's a gigantic ice pick?

Yet another plumbing part! Toilet flush valve without washers, looks to be worn out or broken at the hook end.
