About 5" deep. Found a nice quartz/ serpentine rock that excites my detector too.

Interesting that you kept this artifact and posted about it Aufisher... I don't know how many would have taken the interest... but I also very much like to find relics (including old bottles) of yesteryear's miners and hunters. Thanks for putting this up... it caught my eye right away... and congratulations on a nice artifact.
