Hey there TNeters, while I was out at one of my sites, I found this cool iron object. It's about 6 1/2" in length, has an open pointed tip, it is hollow, and has a small hole close to the tip. I'm not sure what this could be ??? Seems like an old metal pen of somesorts, but wouldn't know how it would work...

Any help is greatly appreciated! :D

I say its an old oil can opener. I will try to find a pic to back my guess up.

It would serve as a dual purpose opener and spout.

Did you ever see the movie "Attack of the Slime People"? You couldn't shoot them because they had this, well, slime on their bodies that acted like a self sealant to stop the bleeding, so to kill them you had to stick them with a hollow spear. This is obviously a spear for killing midget slime people.

Could it be an early maple tree sap tap or spile. Here's some that kinda look like it.

Its a handle off something.Looks like the handle from a dust pan.

Hmmmm...I thought about it being a handle but just couldn't see where it could fit :icon_scratch: I'm still thinking though!

:sign10:! Well, you know who to go to if those midget slime people ever attacked! :D

I DO live in Canada...that could be it...

I'm leaning mostly towards that oil can opener/spout mainly because I can't figure out what it would be a handle too, it's not curved enough to be sap tap and there is no history of midget slime people in my area :) Thanks for the opinions everyone!

Brain storm; looks like a net weaving needle, twine ran into the round open end and out through the hole in the point and the point acted as a needle point. ::)
