I was thinking it looks like a base to something that bolted to the floor or work table. The first thing that came to mind was an iron shoe form (or shoe cobbler). A friend of mine used to own a boot repair business and this looks like something similar that I have seen in his shop.

Looks homemade.
The 4 point piece is exactly like the bits we use at work for rodding pipe. All our bits are custom made for the industry.
Ours attach to a rod appx 1/4" in diameter and the rod lengths are in coils that we connect together and use a power auger to ram them into pipes to bust out scale. Pretty dangerous operation.

Looks like they took one of our bits and weilded it to a base for some special purpose.

I don't know what it was made to do, but it would work really well as a Theater Seat Saver.

How about a master for sand mold to cast glass juicer ?
it would make a inverted juicer
If it were a master for a sand mold it would make the same form as the iron, so that would be correct, not inverted.

but the base would have to be turned up to make the bowl section, not down like this.

Yes, your right, the actual juicer would be correct, but the bowl would be upside down. My bad :tongue3:
