Dug a few feet away from and old grubbing hoe head. The arrow shaped part on top is not solid and there is a hollow space underneath. There is a hole at the top so whether it was attached to some piece of farm machinery,who knows. I'll be back,going to dig up more random stuff,hee hee.

It is a tooth from a "sickle-bar mower"... a type of antique (but later than the civil war) farm harvesting equipment, used to mow down everything from hay to cornstalks in the fields, not grass yards. See the photos below.
