Iron Leg

Here is an iron leg to something.
I found this in a Union army camp near Vicksburg.
Could this be some type of leg to a camp stove? Any ideas with this?

Sure looks like it. You got some real forgiving soil that things in great shape for being in the ground that long

Yes, I sure got lucky with this camp I've been hunting. It is located on a clay hill. The iron and brass have been in great shape - especially the iron. I soaked it overnight and put a wire brush to it but that's all I've done so far.

Small stove. I would say something like a parlor stove. Officers tents sometimes had them if they were going to be there a while.

That is the peg leg off of a pirate...they made that one ornate.

Yup! Stove leg. Just broke one a month ago when it wiggled lose transporting it and it shattered on the road. Could use that right now.
