ID tags are usually brass, aluminum or thin metal. If its a tag we cant read it, so we cant ID it. Unless this item was found on a battlefield or something, its for the junk bucket.

You need to put something in your photos for size reference, like a ruler or a coin. We have no idea what size this is. It does however look like an ID tag. Maybe you could clean the rust off of it?
