My first thought was old plow hardware, but a worn hand-adze makes sense as Broken Knee suggests above. :icon_scratch:

The oval shaped handle hole instead of round makes me think it's at least 200 years old. It kind of reminded me of those boat building tools.

Was adze a kind of wood shaping tool?
