At first I thought this was a joist hanger, but now I'm thinking it may have been a hold down tie of sorts, with an anchor bolt passing through the hole in the seat. Couldn't find anything that looks like it on the internet. It was clearly hammered into shape by a blacksmith.

So, joist hanger, anchor bracket, or ???

Yeah looks like a wagon step to me.

It's a little too narrow to fit a shoe in the "stirrup" part, just a little over 3 inches. Unless it was meant for the just tip of a boot.

But it does look like something off a wagon.

Appears to be a paddle out of an old butter churn.

Okay, I can kind of picture it. It would fit on the butter end of the stick on the old pump up and down type. But it seems a bit on the large size; this is a pretty heavy duty item. And I still can't seem to find any matches on google images using "butter churn".

Here's a comparison of the "stirrup" part with my foot.

Interesting piece. I think it could be from a wagon. It’s the right orientation with the bolt holes in relation to the foot piece. Six bolts should hold the weight of any person big or small.

But it's too small to accommodate a foot -- see the attached photo above. I could barely get just a few toes in it.

However, it could be some other part of a wagon. It looks like it is intended to hold a cross member of sorts.
