Iron gargoyle chain?

This iron chain has a head of something at one end. The head is 2 sided and has ears at the top. Is it a gargoyle?

The rusted end looks like part of a swivel or other attachment.

This was my first item to run through electrolysis and it turned out pretty good IMO, but you can see what it is now. However, I don't know what it is? Anyone?
