Just curious to see if anyone has ever seen or received one of these "Iron Brigade Jr. Member" awards that I heard Buckleboy gives out when someone reaches a certain amount of dug iron in the field. :dontknow:
I've heard they are somewhat rare. Don't be fooled, that is REAL 24k GOLD there folks, not gold spray paint. :tongue3:

Buckles,
I love ya Man!!! :occasion14:

P.S. Yes, I like to recycle my rusty iron too.

I would think you could grandfather in to the Iron brigade as a MASTER MEMBER based on the junk you have dug. I know Dman and I could. HH!!

By the way, that plow tip came from old McDonald's farm, the house shoe from Abe Lincoln's horse, and the wood from George Washington's cherry tree. I told you it was RARE!!! ::)

Keep digging, you'll get there. I heard if you can dig up a whole car you get a lifetime achievement award. :tongue3:

LMAO! Doug, you're a riot. :D

Yes, once you dig and recycle your first 1,000 lbs of iron you get the silver one--and the Gold Award comes after you reach a Ton of iron (or, for our UK counterparts--this is a "short ton" of 2000 lbs.). ;D

Seriously, though--the Iron I've recycled has paid for my gasoline on many a trip.

Keep up the good work, everyone.

Regards,

Buckles

About 8 bucks for 200 lbs. But it's no big deal to haul it out with us and recycle it. The recycle place is on the way home. :)

Thanks for that info. I have a recycle place about 10 minutes from me and as you know, 200lbs can be reached fairly quickly. ;D
Have a great weekend,

Agreed Doug. But all those little Brass items add up quick too!

Brass is where it's at! I have seen members chuck a two pound brass bathtub faucet that they'd just dug--and go to the park later to work for two hours for two bucks in change. ::)

Treasure is where you find it. I save up brass--and when I get to 50 pounds or so, I CA$H IN. :headbang:

Copper is always worth saving too. Heck, I even wash up the cans and pulltabs to take in.
