All, this iron artifact was found near a farmhouse built in the 1880s and inhabited ever since. At first I thought it was part of a well intake pipe, but after cleaning, noticed that unlike a pipe it was slightly concave and angled at all 4 corners. Also on the interior (3rd picture) there is a screw/bolt near one end that may have been used to fastening the artifact to something. The hole at the opposite end suggests that at one time there was a second screw/bolt. I realize it still looks rough (even after 2 days of electrolysis), but hopefully someone can ID and estimate the age.
