the artist formally known as Sadaam
i heard him and the rest of the band died in a plane crash ;D

I think you can probably get about 7 feet of good solid rope for that... for sure!!

When I was over there in 2004 we all brought some back. It was easy to come by.
Eventually it should increase in value.
Along those same lines some of us invested in the new Iraqi currency. We paid $700.00 per million. It is now worth about $812.00 per million. I know that it is probably just a silly pipe dream but if they could stop killing one another and stop destroying the oil and natural gas fields, and they also have a great agricultural area. That country could really prosper and I could retire on my Iraqi Dinar investment and be a full time treasure hunter....Steve

thanks for coments! good luck on your retirement!

I'm not really sure ho much they are worth now, but give it about 20-30 more years or even if you were to pass it on to say your grantsparents, some down the line would be very appreciative about how much money they could make off it. I have a piece of iraqi money, except it is 250 dinars. As I was researching about the note, I had came across some info about it that was quiet interesting. Since Sadaam is no longer the ruler of Iraq. The Irqai government has taken all the money with Sadaam's face on it and destroyed them. Not all of the money was destroyed though, because if you wanted to trade your money in for the new money that they printed, then you had to be in Iraq on a few certain days. When you hand over your money, they gave you new money at the same value. So I was kind of thinking that probably in the near future these bills should be worth some money, considering they have Sadaam's face on them and that they're government tried to destroy all of them, that they should bring in some nice money.

They're not worth too much right now, but Danna brought up a good point...

I'd save them for a while and see what happens. And don't fold or bend paper money! Those creases and dogears kill its value.

You might be interested to know that at the coin and jewelry shop I work at, the demand for these notes exceeds the supply. To many people, they're just a novelty item, but a few collectors have stashed away hundreds of them.

I definitely would save it. They sell plastic bill holders to put them in to keep them safe and flat. It should appreciate in value in the coming years. Hope it helps.

Counterfitors use Iraqi money to make funny U.S. money. The paper quality is the same as USA currency so they bleach off the Iraqi ink and print the US money onto the paper. >:(

A buddy of mine did a one year tour in Iraq. I sent him several packages while he was there and he sent me these two bills in one of his letters. I'm not sure of the current value (if any) but I'm sure it can only go up from here. Hang on to it and see what happens.

You are correct. When I was there in 2004 it took $3.72 of our money to make one Kuwaiti dinar. There money prospered after we liberated them from Iraq. I hope that the Iraqi dinar will do the same but stability is a must in that country. I checked today and one million dinar is worth $822.00 american dollars
