I didn't end up making it to the beach yesterday morning, because my wife and I had to meet with a realtor to make an offer on a house. We've been coming to Cape Cod every summer for 2 weeks for the past 8 years, and have dreamed of owning a summer home here.

Well, just like with metal detecting, if you just keep searching, even when you go for long periods without finding anything, you'll eventually make that dream find.

So, after a day of back and forth, the seller accepted our offer late last night. We were at a party at our good friends' house (the reason we started coming to Cap Cod in the first place) when we got the news, which turned a great party into a real celebration.

Starting next summer, rather than only two weeks to detect the beaches, I'll be out there much, much more!

Keep searching, and I hope each of you makes your dream find!

South Yarmouth. Maybe we can hook up next summer to do some detecting together.

I will be in Korea next summer but the summer after that maybe. The best thing about the cape is the nice old bottles at low tide. I found two nice ink wells there also. If you get a kayake you can get up in some untouched spots looking for bottles . First time I went out bottle hunting there I came back with 5 old milk . Lots of fun!

congrats on the house!!!

congratulations on your summer home. i wish you luck.
