Thanks, nice pic of the flaking, and like uni already said, old and nice. Kind of figured we'd see early parallel flaking, and I would agee with your Agate Basin id, great find!

WOW, you have found some nice ones!

I have been hunting Iowa for points since I was a kid...I am almost 36 now and have never found a single point. Im not looking in the right places or I am just that lucky.
It good to see at least someone is finding these bits of history, congrats and I hope you find many more! :icon_thumleft:

Sweet blade! Looks alot like mine! And guess what... from Iowa too! What area are you in and have any info on age or material from yours? I'd like to find more out about mine. This was the 3rd artifact I'd ever found! It was in a small stream or basicaly ditch mostly mud but a few rocky deposits. Never have found even another flake in that ditch before or since. But there is a productive camp on either side and the begining of the ditch.
Thats just velcro on the back in the edge pic.

They both are beautiful  Great workmanship on them.

My blade was found in Lee co. It is a agate basin knife form, says (Bill Jackson) thin and has heavy grinding along the shoulders half way up the blade on both sides of the base, not sure about material but you can just bout read through it! Im no pro but that "very nice blade" you have there looks like the cache blades found up round Mnt. pleasant. theres folks here that could help more bout the age and such, the flakin looks old but Im not sure on the shape, (by "old" I mean paleo/trans/early arch. sweet blade and Iowa has always given nice blades IF your in the missippi valley region, This is another Iowa blade found just feet from where the agate was found its just shy of 5".

Nailed it with your Mt. Pleasant assumption! Was in Jefferson County (west border of HenryCo.) but along a creek which goes to Skunk river. I'm from around Fairfield and have only been hunting for the past 6 months and I'm hooked! I have found about 60 points/blades/brokes already! Thanks for the info Crow.
