Howdy all. Dave here. Newbie to the forum but not to metal detecting. I got my start many years ago when I was given a Bounty Hunter Red Baron by my Dad. It developed issues and was sent back to the factory. The repair was uneconomical and since the unit was quite outdated, I opted to trade up to a Big Bud. I have spent many hours swinging that detector and really enjoy unearthing ANYTHING that has been out of view for some time. I dig all targets, history fascinates me.
I still have my Big Bud and my grandson grabs it every time he visits. We both enjoy seeing just what we can discover.
I have not been very active with the hobby for a while. I recently rekindled my love of discovery and went on a search for updated equipment. After looking and reading quite a bit, I decided I needed a Minelab X-Terra 705. It arrived a few days ago and I'm reading, re-reading the users manual and Randy's online book "Understanding Your X-Terra" to prepare myself. I also did a search and came up with this great forum for the exchange of ideas and information on THing and metal detecting. I'll be here reading all I can to absorb in preparation of warmer weather and getting back out there to play.
Thanks for having me and thanks for the fantastic resource of this forum. I hope to be able to contribute useful info as I get more involved in the great hobby.
Till then...
Safe & Happy Detecting!!!!
