Intersesting finds 8_16_09,an Old GP ring ,some wheats,& a Civil War era Bullet?

I decided to try woods hunting so I could stay in the shade atleast....but I should have brought some skeeter spray...I only lasted about 2 1/2 hours before it started to shower pretty good....
Maybe one of you can tell me if this IS a Civil War Era Bullet ? Its big and heavy but I dont know...
Also found an Old womans GP ring that looked pretty bad till I let it soak in Worstershire sauce about 6 hours....Looks alot better now.......No silver today....No Nickles today....Just Clad and 8 1940's wheaties
Happy Hunting

Dave, Not bad though, but why the Worstershire sauce?
I tried it on a couple Nickles and it worked...Just thought I would try soaking the GP ring & it worked....If I find any more Gold Plated rings....I will soak them about 4 hours in W/sauce...I should have taken before & after shots...Really worked good.

Great hunt, that ring looks really nice, too bad its GP. I hate it when you look inside the band and see the dreaded inscription...... I have no idea how old that bullet is but it looks really large compaired to the pennies, whatever age it is, it sure is a biggin.

Interesting bullet - I wonder if it's homemade...

That ring is pretty cool, too!

I use worcestershire on all my old nickels. Learned about it from Watercolor. One thing I do to speed up the process is I heat it in the microwave like I do with peroxide for pennies. After you let it soak for20-30 minutes, take it out and scrub it with a toothbrush under running water. Dry it off, re-heat the sauce & repeat the bath for both sides until the red is gone..
