Hello All!

I'm trying to get caught up with my posts!! :-[ I found this neat badge a few weeks ago and haven't had time to post it until today (too much huntin here recently!). I also found two Indian Head pennies, but I don't have photos of those. It looks like the loops at the top were probably attached to a chain that ran to a pin-backed bar. You never know what's underground...and that's one of the coolest things about this hobby/addiction of ours!

Thanks Jamie,

Glad to see that all those things DC said about you aren't true, and that you're still alive, well, and diggin'! :D :D

Will

Book avail here: http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=766621271

See if your library has it first ;)...maybe it will have a pic of what you found.

Again, that was a cool find!

Happy Hunting,
Annmarie

Thank you for the link to the book!

You are very welcomed.

I tried searching some old newspapers to see if I could find an article on this particular celebration, but either the issues are not available on line yet...or nothing was ever written. Did find articles from the 40's and other dates, and other places on "Centennial Celebrations"...but nothing for Springfield.

Have a wonderful day,
Annmarie

Interesting. When I first saw it with the cabin and Springfield, I thought of Abe Lincoln. Then I saw the Ohio and that shot that theory down....humbug.
