I dug this coin today in a friends yard in Jackson, MS. It appears to be a silver coin from Japan. I wonder how it got to Mississippi! If anyone knows more about it I am all ears.

Congrats from Clinton, nice find.

Now you can finally scratch that Japanese 50 Sen Showa off your bucket list! Congrats.

Looks like a WW2 or early postwar soldier bringback, my grandfather was a collector so saved all his foreign coin from sailing around the world in the Merchant Marine and saved some of those too.

Very cool finds, Congrats! I'm in agreement with it coming back in a veteran's pocket.

You're a long way from home. And a long way from all that cold and snow. Gary

It has been so nice here! I had to turn on the AC in my truck yesterday! Not missing the cold and snow one bit.

Now that's a coin you don't dig every day around here!...
