Looks like an echinoderm - sea urchin as TP says.
there is one of those technical words I am lacking, and much too lazy to look up haha.
Thank you for reply's everyone I compared it to most sea urchins and sponges this 19 century image is kinda close to the rock yet it has lines instead of the dots?, I think I will just keep it in display case and if we agree on some other reason I can smash it with hammer and we can find out what's inside https://www.123rf.com/photo_42493380_19th-century-engraving-of-a-sea-urchin.html
I have too many words bouncing around in my head that don't get used much. You already ID'd it, but I needed to pull out "echinoderm" and dust it off. LOL.
