Went out today to an old train stop, ground wasn't frozen....but didn't last long with the windchill. Managed to pull some clad and this interesting piece. It's an eagle with a bust of a man in the center. I tried to find it on google, but had no luck. Was hoping someone here would recognize this piece. Pictures below, made of copper and weighs 10.6 grams.

I may try to soak this in olive oil to clean it, so far only rinsed it with water. Thanks for looking and for any help you guys can provide :D.

Good eye Bramble...I looked at it last night, but had no clue other then a sense it was something special. Now I'm thinking it really is a unique find. There is a restoration forum here Sobo. You may asked for some suggestions on how to bring that more to light down there. They've posted some pretty nice restoration jobs on that forum imo.

Wow! Thanks Bramblefind for the info! Makes sense I found it by a train station, a passenger could have lost it!

I'll check out the restoration forum for sure, and thanks again for the help. :notworthy:

Bramblefind,
Right on !! And the other great researcher was "PBK",who said ten years ago on TNET regarding a similar find: "The... button is a c. 1900-05 dress button depicting Napoleon II as played by the famed actress Sarah Bernhardt in Edmond Rostand's tragedy L'Aiglon, based on the life of the young emperor, who died at 21.
