Spent two hours hunting this morning along the Des Plaines. . . first time at
this site. . . and it should be fairly productive once the mud starts drying a bit.

The area wasn't too trashy so there were a lot of interesting signals I couldn't pass.
Near one of the paths, I found a stirrup that was half exposed from some of the flooding
and not far from that was a 1928-P Buffalo at about 7". I used some "What's that there sauce"
(can't spell Worcestershire) on the nickel and then lightly brushed it with a brass brush and
it turned out better than I expected.

I also found a couple of buttons. . . one might be military?. . . and a what looks like a penny,
that was smushed into a Lords Prayer medallion.

Thanks for looking,

WTG, Mark!! I know that the stirrup and the button are your favorites. All are nice finds!!

This temporary job will be ending soon, so it looks like I'll be out there with you during the week again... :)

Nice, I like those kind of finds better than coins (depends on the coin).

Nice Buff.
Still hurting from that wrong step.
Trying to lay off the pain killers.. too..

Hey Mark,

You're not kidding when you said that buff was sharp! Especially for an earlier date. I've got a few 37's and 38's that look ok, but most of my older buffs are pretty worn. Cool relics too! I'm sure that site has more to give up. Hopefully we can get in a hunt together this weekend.

Great finds bud!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. . . I hope to get out there tomorrow
and see what else hasn't been already snagged.

Take care & thanks!
Mark
