So, my sister and her husband have been building their home on this land for a few years and yesterday was the 1st time I brought my detector. An interesting unknown about the land is there is a TON of broken glass, lots of types, colors etc. every time it rains more glass is unearthed and old bottles etc pop up....so digging is a little tough.

Anyway, we found 4 pieces of aluminum pieces and I don't know what any of these are...maybe this property was. Recycling facility?

I attached a pic of 3 of the bottles we found. We also found some marbles....pretty cool mysterious day with my son.

Cool bottles! One item looks like a battery. The property could have been used as a old dump, maybe there's an old house site close by. No telling what you may find. Good luck!

Thanks, I kinda thought the same...but it seems like it's in different areas...but maybe I'm wrong. I'm gonna have to do a little history search to see if I can find out more. There was LOTS of "noise" while detecting, I only dug on the coin sound, but found aluminum each time. No matter where we dig, we always feel like it's a treasure.

you're too pretty to metal detect LOL

When your family purchased the property, , there was a title search. It may tell you if there was a house built on the land. I visited a Historic Society in Potter County in Pennsylvania and they had something on all of the property in the county. They even had information about a ghost that is said to haunt a house I considered buying. (I can always use the company, , lol.) Just saying that there are numerous sources of where you may find information on your sister's property.
Cool bottles.

Great Goobly...nice bottles! It could possibly be the privy you've found, even though it seems shallow, but you never know. I'd be back there gathering as many of those units up as I could, they appear very old and bottle diggers go bonkers over those. When you get bored swinging the detector, get some good, cut resistant gloves and empty that place out! Thx...Ddf

Looks like you found the dump . To find the home site look for nails . Most old homes are burned down and all that is left is the nails and glass .

....The two brightest aluminum items are (the smallest) a battery....the largest an electrical component called a capacitor ....can almost read the Microfarad value.
Nice bottle finds....Keep searching !

I agree with the others. There is definitely a homesite there somewhere. At least all the signs are there. Somewhere in all that aluminum there's gonna be bucket list silver. You are in the right area for it. That's five flags country. Good luck!

Keep searching. Gotta be some loose change rolling around in all that disturbed earth. Some cool bottles too. Construction sights always seem to produce great finds.

Where there's junk, treasure may be lurking !! I'd do a little research and keep hitting the place until you are satisfied there is nothing there. At least the bottles are a nice find, and when cleaned up they always display nicely.

I was thinking the very same thing. GO to the City planning office and see if there are any old records of a homestead and plot map. Start digging that dump!!
