Have not had time to go out and explore a new site lately with family commitments and work so I rehit a local spot for the first time in a few years that I have truly pounded, maybe twenty 2-4 hour hunts at this lost farmstead. Still giving up some little treasures.

My favorite find is the little 835 Sterling Roman soldier cufflink. My first solid silver cufflink!

The Half Penny has some great detail, sort of a surprising find.

The aluminum ring is “The tales of the Texas Rangers Deputy “ from the 1950’s.

First brass pump stop ball or black powder mill ball in a couple years.

And a little 925 Sterling ring found on the beach.

Some good finds there.

The Roman soldier cufflink, with what you perceive as the number ‘835’ (if you turn it sideways) is actually a stylised four-leaf clover as a maker mark. A sterling piece would be marked ‘925’ (if at all). It’s this mark (which has several minor variations):

Howard.jpg

It was originally registered in 1880 by Howard & Scherrieble (formerly H. Howard & Co.) of Providence, RI with the word 'STERLING' around it in a 'horseshoe' orientation. The business became Howard & Son and then the Howard Sterling Company before going out of business around 1901. The Roger Williams Silver Company acquired many of their assets, including that trademark, and it was also possibly subsequently used by Parks Bros. & Rogers.

Those are all really nice finds. Good job!

a look on the internet shows that the Texas Rangers ring is apparently a 1955 premium from the tv show 'Tales of the Texas Rangers'. I didn't see any information showing if it was a giveaway from a cereal box or if you had to mail something in to get it. You got a great bunch of finds there
