Went hunting last weekend at Treasure Beach and stocked up on aluminum can pieces. Later we went further North and hit a quiet piece of the beach near Sebastian Inlet. Found some coins and other misc modern stuff, along with this item. All I can say is that it is truly unidentifiable by me. It appears to have gold in it, but it is not very heavy, so the bulk of it must be some other material. I can't tell what the other two materials are that are with it. What is the easiest way to test if it is gold? If it is, I would like to head back to the area and do some more target hunting. I think it is somthing that the dredges sent up.

It has been out of the sand in on my nighstand for a week and it still looks as shiney as when I found it.

Thanks for all your help in advance!

I would take it to a jeweler and have them acid test it. Easiest way that I know of.

Hey brother,
Looks way to shiny to be some treasure gold. I would bet on it being some melted down plastic, It looks a bit burnt. Ive found many Items like that, like lighters that have a gold coating on them that the sand eats away and the plastic ends up turning the same color and texture as urs. I hoping for the Treasure gold or gold in general for u, but im probably right.

Hey By Crackie!

Based on your hypothesis, I chipped off some of the gold pieces and threw them in a bowl of water. They floated . . .

Guess I don't need to be rushing back to that particular spot.

Thanks for the education CrackBadger, Jack
