Couple of finds out of the woods. My first nazi coin, a 50 pfennig. Pretty cool. If someone could help with the Id on the bullet.. a sheep, some grenade shrapnel. And of course the frustrating haha I'm not a coin, buttons.
For some reason the coin shrapnel and bullet made me want to watch that movie....thanks for looking.

I love those buttons! The bullet would be hard to ID without accurate measurements. Also look for any lettering or numbering on it.

I've never seen a fired bullet with any markings other than rifling. :icon_scratch:

Great finds. That bullet looks like the a .50 BMG (Browning machine gun) That would have been the main U.S. machine gun in WWII. That is the best I can do from the picture. GL & HH

Yeap, 50cal as pointed out. Lots of planes from WWII carried these.

See if the bullet is magnetic. Most but not all 50 cals are steel covered with copper.

Nice history there

I would rather watch for a second ring around the bullet other than the one where the casing had crimped to the bullet. That indicates the incendiary ones. Helpful when the blue tip istn't visible any more. But your's doesn't look it has. You better throw the blue tipped away. Nice buttons!

Interesting war era finds

Nice finds, cool movie.

Yeah you're right, the vast majority don't. That's what happens when you work 70-80 hour weeks. Your mind doesn't work right after a while. Also, the vast majority found/dug are common .50 rounds. Then again, you run into something like an 8mm Lebel bullet with all kinds of markings on it, granted not really a ww2 gun but like I said, I'm tired. lol
