Insitu clear quartz point

Hi all ,. well , made it out for a few hr's today ,.. and got somthing I'd been wanting to share here for somtime . It's an insitu of a clear quartz point . Not that there uncommon ,here in So Cali ,.. but with the new house , time to go out and get a pic of one ,. now that's uncommon !!
My Wife & dog and an Old buddy hit the field just past noon . I found the first point not more then 5 ft. from the truck ,. somewhat Larson style ... . So,. 12:13 first insitu pic [first one below here ] . It's a somewhat clear [ish] quartz ,. great pic of a not so great point. Time line here ,. 12:23 pic of buddys bead ,. 12:25 pic of one of my beads ,. now as I was crawling [literally] down the Rd. I noiticed a slight concave curve on this "rock" ,. thought ,hmm.,.. maybe ? with one scrap with my trowel ,. confermed ,. it was a metate ! ,.. Insitu 12:30 [second pic here below] , but it was the tip of the proverbial iceburg ! lost some time on Rd . repair . didn't take my next insitu pic till 12:52 ,. but this is the pic i've been wanting to share here ! It's a clear[?optical?] quartz point ,. a bit rough with a bit of tip damage ,. but the insitu is good enough ! [it's the therd pic below].
Anyway there you go ,.. the next hr went a bit slower with the rain and lunch etc ,. found a few more brokes & a bead but by 1:52 game was over !

Hey Blindpig glad to see you back on the hunt. Congrats on the new house and finding time to hunt and share with us. Any insitu this time of year is good and quartz makes a good one. Happy New year to you and yours. It is good to get out and hunt it relieves stress!

Nice point can we see it in your hand? I like to take the before and after when I do the instu shot. But I dont do them too often.

Here you go Rock ,. the in hand shot ,. also added my day's take in the metate . My Wifes take one tip of a piont , . My buddy one bead and ? ,..Dog ,. 5 deer ,. all yuong buck's I believe ,..He didn't take any ,. just played wolf & pray with 'em .

Thank you. It is a lot smaller than I thought but still a nice point and those others in the Mortar are nice too.

GatorBoy ,. yeah ,. these clear point's can blend for sure !! Sometimes,.when the light hit's 'em just right,. they can just shine like a diamond in a goat's ,... Butt not all the time !

Hay there Larson ,.. WOW !! funny thing is I'm in Hangover S.D. right now!! ,. No, not really had a few beer's last night ,. and just drove on past hangoverville this morning .
I hope my post'n of late isn't driving you to the saloon's ,.. just yet ,.. Mr Moderater,..
I can only hope ,. for the name sake ,. that this establishment "the Blind Pig" is dishing out only the finest of swill .
Anyway ,. I for one , am glade to see 2012 go away,..there's been much hardship for many ,.. but theres been some good as well ,for me like having work ,. able to make the new house possable and "habitable" for the family .
I'm hoping for all ,. a better new year ,. I'm start'n out with some big changes at work tomorrow , believe this is for the better . And with a "habitable " house now ,.. maybe I can get out for a "few" hr's ,. every now & then ,..

Whew!! Glad I'm not the only one!! Nice looking translucent points. Is that quartz or some other lithic?

Hi there N.C. Feild Hunter ,. Yes ,both points are quartz , about 80 % +/- are,. here in North San Diego . But ,.yeah that first one doe's have that "whitish haze" about it and looks like some agate .
