sose I go into a bank about an hour from where I live today... Ask for the halves and I get the "you'll have to ask the vault teller" Sose I says to 'er, "I'll take em all" and she says "I have 11 rolls, hold on". Then I see her walk into da vault... I'm watching her get out the rolls then she see's me watching and closes the door. Then I hear it... "clink clink clink"

She brings me out one roll and says the others are "inaccessible" and won't sell me the other 10 CWRs... Those rolls shoulda been mine!

Frankie and boys is gonna pay her a visit....

That's a legit thread... I tried to pressure her to sell me the coin, even asked for the branch managers name, but she wouldn't budge. At least I ended up with about an oz of Ag for the day.

The teller at my bank today started poking around with my rolls of halves... she knew what i was looking for even without me saying anything.

I would report that teller to the manager of that bank, and if the manager is in on it, the regional manager. Make it happen. Sorry for your loss today, better luck next time!

I would bring thousands of dollars of halves there and tell her to deal with it and use profanity... That's what I do

You realize that most tellers make minimum wage and probably need the money more than you do.

I was going to go to a local bank a good 30 minute drive but I got lost trying to find it. Was going to buy a hundred dollars of halves. Not much but all my local banks have HRC instead of MRC. I went to a coin shop and bought some silver with the hundred just to cheer myself up. While I was at the coinshop I was talking about getting some rolled halves. another guy there said that was the bank to go to for rolled halves. Apparently according to him that is that only bank that constantly orders halves and that the local resturant there gives out the halves as change. how odd is that? Told my brother that nex time I wanted to go I was going to drag him with me and use him as my Living GPS. I am drooling at the thought of getting some machine wrapped coin rolls.

Sincerely, Garoulady

Should I feel guilty for being angry about ridiculously horrid customer service? NO. And also, my GF is a teller and makes a few dollars more than min wage. It doesn't bother me if a teller silver snipes, but it's simply rude when they tell you they have something to give you and then deny it. I'm lied to on a frequent basis as a CRHer, I know this to be true.

Yeah I think Id go to a few banks and buy boxes and boxes of pennies, talking several hundred pounds, dont even bother checking them just go to the bank and dump so much it takes a half hour to process even if they do bags. And Id drag it waaay out and make sure when you're done that she knows why.

Gotta let it go buddy. They have rights to buy these stuffs, too. This happened to me couple times when I started crhing. I even saw a teller picked out couple silvers in front of my eyes. I never asked for loose or CWRs again. I only do boxes so I don't have to deal with this #%^* ever again.

I would have asked for another teller and had him/her get you those other rolls. I have had customers who don't like me for some reason and I don't paid enough to deal with their venom (these are the people who say they won't come back and yet still do in order to make your life hell). So I back up, let another cashier take care of them and get them out of there fast. We also have people come into our store looking for rolled coin. Sometimes we sell the rolls, other times we say no because its the end of the week and don't have enough for ourselves to last the week. we are a grocery store, not a bank.

There are ways to get around rudeness, whether you are the one being rude or the one evading the rudeness.

As for picking silver out of rolls, I only open my rolls up when I don't have any customers just in case. If I see a wheatie or silver while working, off to the left side empty till drawer it goes.

I worked as a teller years ago, and I made more than minimum wage back than, I doubt they have reduced the pay to minimum now a days.

I know em's guide is cool but I don't suggest getting yelling and using profanity. All your going to do is get your self shut down from a bank AND PROBABLY OTHER CRH's by bringing to much attention all for 11 rolls of halves? Let it go. Just go back tomorrow and get a different teller or send a friend in or something. It's never worth making a scene at the bank. You have to think it he long run.
