It usually only comes up when folks are arguing about who has the biggest metal detector. :)

Depends on what the target is but most coins are 1-4" deep. They can be deeper than that like a quarter at 10"
I can find a can at 12" no problem, but I'd rather it be gold! Lol!
Maybe the people posting finds will start mentioning the depths for ya.

stock-vector-vector-cartoon-of-pirate-digging-up-treasure-chest-88412794.jpg............Stayed tuned, you are about to read........thinking-conf-bias2.png....on how a dime was dug at 12 inches.

If people posted the exact measured depth of targets, that would tell you nothing because of so many different ground conditions. The only way anyone could use the information would be, if they were hunting the same area.

What he said :) The only other use for depth reporting would be to show off a detectors attributes but empty_pockets graphic details are an argument for that as well.
Hahh :)

This has been discussed here before, you might search for the posts. Best I can glean from it is it depends on the soil. Some coins will go deep and some can be found on the surface. For example, few coins will go deeper than the clay under the ground. If the clay is 6" deep the only coins a foot down are probably buried. Good luck.
