Any ideas on the maker of it or the correct name of it? Is it just a screw jack?

Well my first hunch was maybe an accessory with a WWII Willy's military MB or GPW Jeep, but that ain't it. I'm thinking it's from a vehicle of around the 1940s early 50s, based on the pressed metal and rivet construction. I think the folks in the " what is it forum" would have fun trying to figure this one out. To me it looks like a jack that was provided as an accessory to some old vehicle. Are there no part numbers or alpha codes on it anywhere? The name I'd give it is a ratcheting screw jack. Found an image of one kinda like it, but little info other than old 1940 automobile Jack for Chevy or Dodge.

Thanks a lot for the info. Yeah, I couldn't find any markings on it; that was one thing that threw me off. It doesn't really look like they go for much to begin with though. Thanks again

nice relic either way and could come in handy
