Paid $25 for this only because it fit me and I had never seen anything like it. The markings on the back are Caracol and then an Eagle head with 925 (very small) under it and then some weird undecipherable symbol possibly a makers mark. I assume it's Mexican and some designer however I can't find the symbol online anywhere. Sorry I can't a better picture of it, it wasn't on any silver encyclopedia pages. I have never seen a ring like it before, funky looking. Any idea on the age? Definitely older because of the patina on it, 1970s? 60s? Onyx stone as well. Any input would be great!

I Saw that site too but I didn't think it was the same because my ring is too old for that... I could email them I guess and check

Got a really good picture of the marks. No way this could be a modern repro imitating an old look? One big reason why I bought it was because I thought it was old....

The second symbol may be a snail or a spiraled shell? Just a guess since caracol means snail, shell or spiral.

It's from Lisbon, Portugal.

After some quick reading, modernist jewelry was mostly popular from the late 30's up until the early 60's. Mostly in the 40's and 50's though. The silver assay marks are current, but started to be used in 1938. Sorry, but that's as close as I can pin the dating down.

Wow GibH!! Nice work! I would have never found that, thanks! I just thought since it was an eagle it had to be Mexican.
