Ok so the other day I found what looked to be a coyote canine. I posted it along with a point I found several feet away. So my question is- how can you tell how old it is. or can you at all. Obviously it's not fossilized and I assumed it was a modern coyote or something. To be honest it didn't even cross my mind that it may have belonged to an Indian a couple hundred years ago. Yet several folks on here believe it to be a bear tooth. If this is the case it was most definitely Indian as I live in southeast Kansas and have no bears in the area. The tooth is right at 2 inches long. So I'm just looking for some opinions from people who have found some old teeth. I've seen a lot of teeth but this is my first from a campsite.
