That's an attractive lithic and some outstanding finds! Thanks for sharing.

nice stuff and now i know a little about indiana green thanks :icon_thumright:

Those are very well made. Great finds, if they were mine I would have them in a frame.

Good looking material even if it is grainy as you say you have found some nice examples . Thanks for sharing your finds.

Great finds, don't here much about that material, cool info also. Thanks for the view.
Viking, this stuff really didn't get carried too far from the source it seems. I am about 100 miles from the Wabash.

I live in the piedmont of NC. I find tons of "green chert". That is a name I have heard elders use, and it has bled on down. What I'm wandering, is, if these are the same chert type, or if patina is what causes mine to look so close to your finds. (nice finds by the way) ill attach a couple pics of what I have, and if you will, let me know if they are the same. Thanks!

I would have to say you have a different material here. It doesn't look like Attica and given that it didn't get much more than 200 miles from the source it is very doubtful.

The single piece that you have in your hands looks as though it has been cooked and doesn't appear to have that grainy look to it.????

The one I am holding is a little better grade of material. Attica varies in quality quite a lot. The little dove on the right is probably the best material and the Thebes is about the lowest grade. Is it heat treated? I don't thinks so but I cannot definitely say for sure. I will try to get a better pic of it when I get some good light.

I'm a bit late reading this. Anyway, thanks. As soon as I read this, it fell into place. The banding that is visible through the patina should have told me.

Nice relics...
