Found this in a hole I was digging out detecting, what are the chances? Lol.

Found on an island in the upper Hudson River near coeymans, ny.

It's about 4 1/2 inches long and 2 1/4" wide

Any Indian experts who could tell me more about this? Thanks in advanced I love this thing. I'm no expert, but it does look like a worked stone
my guess is some kind of hoe

Yeah I agree, definitely a worked stone, hopefully it's not a hoe though! Haha, doesn't make for a good story at all! Lol. But it is what it is in the end right? Still awesome!

If i took this to a museum would they force me to give it up?

I'd guess a hand axe . . .

Definitely a Native American tool-probably a hoe or adze. Adzes were woodworking tools that were mounted on the end of a pole/limb.

Looks like large hoe, when you post pictures always helps to post known object for size reference, maybe ruler... We don't know if your 5' or 6' 6" so picture on leg doesn't help much
