looks this person worked real hard on try to drill through this slate, i dont know if my pic will show the line he made to keep his hole that he's drilling inline so it would come out the back side? look close.. white oak creek find.

Neat peice. Looks like a salvage attempt to me. He must have broke his preform, and tried to do something with it. White Oaks a long way from the nearest slate source in this area. (Slate Shoals on the Red River)
