Well Jeff did it again today. We headed back to yellow springs to pass over coils over the old house yard one last time. Near the front sidewalk, at 7," jeff got a quiet hit. He decided to dig and it was a nice 1887 IH cent. sorry no pic of it as Jeff usually doesn't take his camera.

Terry:
I on the other hand have a camera and forgot it...old people.

In the grass area, between the sidewalk and curb, I got a quarter hit but maybe bigger. I had such bad luck today i decided to dig. Out pops this little Brass Mouse about three inches long. It had purple paint on it's back once, now just a remnant.

Something on the back in pin points inscribed, "H.L. " something line then the third line looks like "221." I scatched it without thinking to try to see the inscription. Guess now that it is damaged I might as well us sand paper.

Very cool little mouse! Don't use sandpaper - like Mackaydon mentioned - try to trace or put a piece of paper up against it and go over it lightly with a pencil. As far as cleaning it at all - I'd research it first...

Is that cloisenet (kloy-sen-ay) ? (I ain't even attempting to spell it right) That's a cool looking mouse!

Hey, that's a nice mouse! I think you may be onto something.

It has no eyes, so it's blind....

Someone chopped off it's tail....

If they used a carving knife, there might be two more out there!!! :tongue3:

Seriously, it is a NICE find!!
