indian head (button)??

Dug this at a teardown site after dinner tonight. Was wondering if anyone has ever seen one

Yes , I have found several indian head buttons like your's around an old home site . I didn't know anything about them but I was told that they date back to around the 1850's .

I prolly sound like a broken record... but is there anything (writing) on the back? Sometimes the loop style is helpfull in IDing also.
