It looks like what is referred to as a trade point. They were points usually made of iron, by Whites, to trade to the Indians. Some tribes, in copper baring areas of the country, did hammer there own points from pure natural copper they found, but they more closely resemble the chipped stone points you usually find. I'm sure trade points were made from any available metal by Indians and Whites.

Nice find, Congrats!!

Looks trade to me too. Depending on where you live. Points made from raw copper tend to be more abundantly in the great lakes region. They are usually easy to identify.......if you have seen them before.
Yours looks like a typical trade point. If it is copper it was probably cut out scrap from a broken copper kettle. Native Americans would use every thing to its fullest. I have seen brass, copper and iron trade points as well as files and gun parts turned into hide scrapers and musket barrels turned into knives.

Look and see if you can find any score or cut marks along the edges of the arrowhead.
Heres is a picture of some trade items I had on my computer and in the picture you can see my copper kettle arrowhead. Size and shapes vary.
