Indian Artifact?

Looks natural. Lots of rocks erode differently according to that there are different types of material mixed together. The softer materials will erode more than the material next to it. Hope this helps.

Agree with those above - it is natural rock. From the pictures the rock appears to be crossbedded sandstone - with some laminate having more grain-to-grain SiO2 cementation (bonding) than other sand grain layers; that over time has caused uneven weathering (disaggregation) of the primary sand particles. Nature produced art.

it could be a rock used to abrade, or shape arrow, bows, etc..... look close for signs of that....

I am on the fence with this one! I see mainly the same general composition over the entire rock but is darker (more brownish) where it was in contact with darker material and it appears to have larger granules of Quartz throughout that are much larger than what is seen in Sandstone. It is definitely a compacted conglomerate but not sure of the entire composition. Also, some of the grooves my be natural but others appear to have had some help somewhere along the way.

Artifacts Continued

I figured since we were on the topic of artifacts then I would ask about these. The round stone came from a field in clarkshill Indiana. We have no idea what it is. Maybe a geode? We were told it may be an Indian game ball. The other piece I found in a creek. I’ve always wondered about these but never really asked. So here they are
