Today in the mail I received my repaired and restored Indian Wars era hat badge. I dug it early last summer, and it was pretty messed up. I didn't know what it was so I straightened it out. When I realized what it was, I was so glad I didn't snap it into pieces!
Not long after I straightened it, the screw on the back dried up and fell off. Bummer! Also, the gold plating was totally gone in the places it had been so bent.
And here it is, beautifully repaired and expertly restored. I love how it's stable, and restored to the point that it looks really good yet still has the dug relic look to it.
I have to thank ANTIQUARIAN for recommending I send it to Roland Frodigh at Hallowed Ground Restorations. I know it wasn't a huge repair, but Roland did it exactly right. Check out his site to see the amazing work he does bringing relics back to life.
Thanks for looking. And with this weather being so crazy, I might even be out digging next week!!
