My husband was working on getting a massive tree stump out of the backyard and while digging out the roots, he found a ceramic lid to a canning jar. I said to myself, this might be something very cool.
Run over to the truck of the car, pull out the metal detector, and scan the area. Nothing. No glass to match the lid.
A little ways out from the stump, I get this nice sounding signal and dig. It was a 1940 Canadian penny, in very good shape. I will spare your eyes, due to my camera being unable to take clear pictures.
What a let down. I just knew there was a cache back there by the tree.....
