White's XLT
This afternoon, I went back to the house I was at Saturday evening, where I got a Rosie and silver war nickel. I was digging every solid signal as I was also trying to find a child's small gold ring lost by the owner's young daughter 42 years ago. Never got it. I even covered the yard at a right angle to my original search - which I never have the patience to do.

However, I did get a sweat 82 v.d.i. signal on my XLT that was registering dime/then quarter and 4 1/2 inches deep. Found a beautiful 1914D barber dime. Normally, I carry an empty Tums container (with a slit cut in it) in my left pocket for found coins. Good coins go in the little change pocket in my blue jeans. Today, I was in shorts with shallow pockets. This baby made me nervous in the pocket so I made a trip to the car to make her secure.

The wheaties are 1915,19,19, and 34. The V nickel is 1891. It's too bad that nickels handle the ground conditions so poorly.

The button is from Scofill Manufacturing Company. I think it is newer as the backing is not all rotted/rusted by the ground.
It was on the surface in an empty flower bed, under a tree. Seems to have an anchor under the eagle. The belt buckle is neat.

Great finds. The barber is sweet. The V Nickel is much better than the one I just found. Yours has great detail even if it is a little red. ;D

Great job Hoosier. Very nice job. Love the coins.

At least you tried to find the ring, and cool finds btw.

Congrats on the finds and nice looking Barber! HH, Mike

A good day!

Good plan taking that crisp Barber right to the car. ;)
