UPDATE: I forgot to mention, this has proved to be 3.5 grams of silver. For those who hate hanging things. :)

Old coins are just plain hiding from me right now. I know, it'll change.

But, I'm still finding the strangest things and in the strangest ways!

Me and my friend swapped detectors for a couple minutes today. So, I could experiment with it's ability to separate iron from "good". I got this hit right away, near an old foundation. There was definitely two metals going on. I could tell that right away. The iron audio told me that, coupled with a good signal that was peaking at about 85. My friend calls that a quarter hit.

Anyway, I dug and found a piece of an old, rusty bolt. Checked the hole again and there was the quarter hit still. I was impressed by that alone. With my detector I'd have said, iron and left it there.

But, what I dug is a complete mystery to me. No markings on it but it came out this clean. It was bent up a bit as it is fairly fragile, (not thick).

So, what do you think?

Thanks for peeking.

HH
