hey people im a new detector and havent even tried mine yet. im in the east coast of canada and still have 2 ft of snow to melt. im excited to try a new hobby and i have some questions.... what are wheats? and i have a beginners detector called a bounty hunter i know its prob garbage but it was in my price range for now. where i live there is a place from 1850's where they trained army.right up till late 1940's. i was wondering how i would go about asking for permission to hunt there and what are the rules for school yards old churchs....can i go and dig or do i need permission. i dont see many ppl detecting around here. we also have a couple nice popular beaches are we allowed to go to provincial parks and dig there? nice meeting you all maybe ill find me a treasure some day

Welcome from White Plains, New York. "Wheats," are Wheat Pennies minted in the early 1900's - 1958. Don't know jack about Canadian detecting rules - but Good Luck!

are they worth much? the wheats that is? i dont think there is to many valueable canadian coins i think they used zinc for most of them but not forsure....
