Hi, I’m new to this and not sure what I have. This appears to have been made from an extremely worn cobble. Looks water worn. It’s very thick but serrated. I’m trying to figure out which side is the base. I’m guessing it broke but need help. This was found in se Wisconsin on a farm what produced pottery and several Madison points. Any idea friends? Is this a point, tool or nothing?
Thanks

I'm no expert since I have never found one, but I did learn something about arrowheads years ago while trout fishing on a stream in PA just north of Gettysburg. I guy came walking up the stream with a revolver on his belt and I hoped I wasn't in trouble. I was on public land and asked him about the gun.

He said he carried it when looking for arrowheads because of the snakes. I asked him how many arrowheads he has found over the years and he said over 2000. He told me that many times, arrowheads were just discarded during the process of making them if they weren't good enough. So, there's always a chance you might find one that was discarded before it was completed.
