I'm kinda new to this...

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to introduce myself. I am from New Jersey, close to the shore. My profession is a mixture of things: GIS Specialist, Document Imaging Supervisor, IT Administrator. I am just getting into Metal Detecting, mostly to take off a few pounds as well as get out with my 10 year old son. I thought that this hobby would be ideal for me since I have a background in G.I.S., access to old maps for my local area, as well as a love for History.

I'm looking to get better, and want to improve and get more comfortable with my MD before I join any clubs. With that said, I am a team player and feel that a hunt is always best with buddies. So, if your in the Central Jersey area and don't mind a newbie asking questions feel free to message me.

Welcome aboard from the great state of Pennsylvania (USA).

You might consider browsing Sub-Forums: New Jersey for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

Super on sharing your hobby with your son. Everytime my Granddaughter comes up - first thing she does is run for the ole MD and out we go!

Welcome to a great hobby!!! Don't get frustrated using your MD, it does take time to get to know it......quite a bit of time!! Enjoy and remember that you will come across a lot of trash at first, though through time you will learn how to "hear" correctly and you will start pulling the hidden treasures!!!!
