I'm Calling Bull

Ok so in Alberta in order to legally sluice you have to buy a placer miner license $52.50 good for 5 years.
Just got mine. But decided I wanted to look up penalties for ppl that don't have them.
I've read the acts and regulations and they proceed to say that they can take your license if you disobey the rules. What happens if you have your license taken from you but continue to sluice without 1?
I've read on other forums that they can take all of your equipment your vehicle and impose $250k fines lmao.
I've Googled everything to try and confirm if this is true, can't find NOTHING!
I've called Coal and Mineral 780 4277707 whom I purchased the license from they have no idea of the penalties. They patched me through to Recs and Parks 780 4273570 they have no idea. They patched me through to a land management specialist 780 8427551 he has no idea.
I've called Alberta Environment and Parks 800 2226514 and they also have no idea!!!
Have I just been scammed out of my $52.50 this is getting pretty silly. No one from the feds can give me an answer, so at this point I'm calling bull on the need to have a license in the province of Alberta unless someone can prove otherwise.

being a family friendly forum I think you will need to change your thread title

Stuff happens. You live, you learn. Live with the rules, or live as an outlaw - most of us fall somewhere in between. :skullflag:

This exact phrase could be said in many countries on many subjects. They are Feds, there are no answers at all.

Good luck.

But don't you feel like a good. dutiful citizen now? And you can ignore everything else that comes along. Just wave your license and go back to work. Now, what are the fees for? As a Texan that grew up hearing about the RCMP, I figure the fee goes to buying hay for the horses, or in today's world, gasoline for the patrol cars and planes. See, I'm full of what your title states...

If it's like or government it's do what your told not what I do and they can do anything they want really. Here they will take all your equipment in a flat minute and that means your vehicle and all, plus all the fines they can come up with and if your me they will go out of their way to come up with some new fines to throw my way.

I'm hearing what everyone is sayin', much appreciated.
I'll keep digging and keep making calls.
Even a criminal that commits an offence knows what he's looking at for a sentence.
Honestly everyone I've spoken too seemed puzzled as to what would really happen and just as dumbfounded at the lack of information.
Thanks a bunch guys

Why keep calling? Are you hoping to eventually find someone to confirm what you've "heard" they will do? Leave well enough alone and go sluicing!

For the peace of mind that the $52.50 that would give me knowing that myself and family would be safe from any type of persecution / confiscation of equipment for the 5 years that I would be mineing is cheap enough. why don't you ask the person that would be citing you this question OR where you would end up if citied? Either way ,Id just drop it rather than stireing up something that you really don't want to get into!

Title and post edited, please remember our rules on language...Substituting characters such as "$" to bypass our censor still violates our rules...

Go sluicing and get caught and tell them you don't have your license, let them fine you and then produce your license and just tell them you just found it.

In light of all the recent mass shootings as of late that your kids see on family friendly television 24/7. Live feeds of foreign dictatorships executions. I figured that maybe just maybe that most kids would have thick enough skin and be mostly sensitized by a little bull waste matter discharged from the bowels after food has been digested. I guess not.
I'm just glad that I never exposed your sensitive children to where I was born and raised. Wasn't 1945 Germany but was this little hamlet town in Austria named ****ing.
****ing citizens enjoy great past times, y'all should visit sometime.

soooo because kids are exposed to bad stuff elsewhere, it should be EVERYWHERE?

Tell ya what, when you start your own website you can make the rules ok?

LOl hey I tried to warn you about it. Arguing about the rules will not get you anywhere either. I know from experience

What makes fecal matter such bad stuff?
That's not the point. The point is how the word is used in society. There's no problem when referring to a donkey as a jackass, as that's what it is. But is not good to use that word in other ways.

Can refer to bull**** as bull poo, bull crap, or even bull paddy's. Just not bull****.

it's more about cleanliness than censorship.

makes people look nicer when they post too.
