Just a month to closing on a 1949 house on a one acre lot on the edge of Georgetown. It's got 4 or 5 ANCIENT ( they were mature trees during settlement ) live oaks, the rest is sandy lawn. Should be easy digging. Ha. Driving through the old part of town would make any MD'r drool. This town was occupied by the British during the RW, and Francis Marion, with his merry men needed three attempts to finally drive them out. The area isn't overrun with tourists, and potential sites from the Revolution haven't been all chewed up from development, or mined for phosphates 150 years age. Unlimited potential for wearing out my F75. Anticipation.

Good luck on getting permissions and if that fails you always have your lot!! Congrats on getting your house as well.

Best of luck on the new home, and any future permissions.

Good for you. Don't forget to pay the County Historical Society a visit. They can tell you what was on your property before your house was built. Introduce yourself to your neighbors. Maybe make up a few cards with your name, phone #, and the fact that you own a metal detector. You never know when they might get curious and call you.

Great suggestions! Thanks.

Seen a few MD videos that were done in the downtown area of Georgetown with some really nice finds. Definitely nice hunting grounds for a pretty diverse history, Rev War, CW. The homes throughout the area are beautiful too! Congrats and good luck!:icon_thumright:
