I can say one thing that worked for me...Read the hand book that comes with the unit ,also practice with some coins burried at different depths in your own yard. Until you feel comfortable with the sounds and depth of the targets...Seeker

the 250 is a great machine to get started with.

ZACK, Welcome to the Forum. With any Detector, Practise, Practise, Practise, You Live In a Very Historical part of the Country & WE Look Forward to Seeing Your Finds. trk5capt...

Like they all said practice, practice, practise. I took various items, different coins, gold and silver rings, cans, pull tabs etc. and buried them in a area (not deep, and marked). I ran my detecter over to get various sounds and measures. Read your manual, and practice, this will improve your detecting finds. Good luck.

I'd have to say I hate the ACE 250! >:( I have one and I also have a thousand dollar detector. Last week I loaned my ACE to a friend who had never detected before. We went to a freshwater beach for about an hour. He found a 14k gold man's ring and I found a few coins with my super dooper whiz bang machine. OOOH $#@%$$#@! I would have had Smithers loose the dogs on him if he wasn't a good friend! When you get ready to move up I may have a deal for you! Welcome to the forum. Monty
